Steve is a recently retired (after 32 years) basketball coach and served as Head Coach for Highland Park, Bushland, and Brownfield High Schools. He’s originally from Rockwall, Texas and went to Texas Tech in Lubbock. He came to Amarillo by way of his wife, Elise. The couple have three children: Tate who is a Football coach at El Campo High School, Hannah who is a graduate of Texas A&M and now lives and works in San Antonio, and Jed who just graduated with his masters from Texas Tech.
