I am appointed by the secretary of state to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents. Documents are notarized to deter fraud and to ensure proper execution. It is my responsibility as a notary public to ensure that the signers have appeared before me and have produced proper identification and ensures that the documents are signed correctly.
